Tacky is wearing ill fitted cheaply made clothing, clothes that are see through and showing your bra straps in tops that have holes in ill chosen places. It is wearing five inch platform purple heels with said tops that are see through. Wearing two shade of the same neutral is not tacky.
Wearing a lighter shade on top and the deeper shade on the bottom have been done forever. Some sweaters are striped with two shades of the same color. Some shades are so off from each other that do not agree together. You just have to have a good eye or ask someone who has one to tell if the shades match. But wearing different shades of the same color has been done through decades of clothing.
Black is such a beautiful color. People have so many misconceptions about those who like to wear all black. This world is so judgmental.
I think wearing all black can be a very chic look.
monochromatic look where you get all your pieces to be the same color of a different shade. The beauty of neutrals is because they work with any color and any skin tone, this look is definitely one to try and see if you like. It is always guaranteed to work and is an outfit where you don’t have to try too hard to compile, just get all pieces of clothing with the same color and ta-da. Guaranteed easy look. It can be done as long as you use distinguishing shades for some colors. My personal favorite for this is the all black look.
It is a really easy, simple look and you don’t have to think too hard about compiling. It also allows you to achieve the infamous bad boy, rugged look that can only be done with all black. For black and even white, they don’t have to be for the same shade in order to pull off the monochromatic look.
If you were to try different colors, it would then look tacky. That is why I recommend using different shades of different colors for the monochromatic look or if you are trying to do some color matching in your outfits.
