History will say that Trump was rather awful in a lot of ways, but right about China. The way that Sir Winston Churchill was a major bigot and a racist colonialist, but dead-right about Nazi Germany. The whole world just stands by and buys cheap products from a nation that puts ‘troublesome’ ethnic minorities in concentration camps and murders political dissidents for sport. Only Trump called them out and waged an economic war against the CCP.
Now of course Winston Churchill was a brilliant man, and accomplished in many other fields. Of Trump I truly cannot say the same — he will be remembered for a lot of awful things, views, comments, not to mention shameless cronyism and nepotism to the highest degree. Trump, Ivanka, Kushner, Don junior, they’re the Imelda Marcoses of our time…
Oh they will be reviled for a long time. Ridiculed. Made fun of. But make no mistake, even a broken clock is right twice a day. And win or lose this November, the one issue Trump put on the agenda more than any other politician in his day and age, is going to be the issue we will remember him for. Mark my words.
Like Churchill in the 1930s was right about the rise of Germany, Trump rang the alarm bell on China. And for this, history will vindicate Trump. If for nothing else.
