Who do you feel sorry for, and why do you feel sorry for them?

Brendan Fraser.

Who?

That guy that acted in The Mummy trilogy, George of the Jungle, and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

This guy.

If you recognize him from any of his movies, you might have noticed that there was a gap where he just wasn’t acting anymore.

So now you may be wondering Shaheer, why do you feel sorry for him though?

Well let’s see…

  • He got divorced (ditched) by his wife who asked for nearly a million dollars from him per year.
  • Doing many of his own stunts, his own body began to eventually give way and he became pretty grievously injured.
  • He got sexually assaulted by the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association:

In the midst of a crowded room, Berk reached out to shake Fraser's hand. Much of what happened next Berk recounted in his memoir and was also reported by Sharon Waxman in The New York Times: He pinched Fraser's ass—in jest, according to Berk. But Fraser says what Berk did was more than a pinch: “His left hand reaches around, grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint. And he starts moving it around.” Fraser says that in this moment he was overcome with panic and fear.

He felt scared to say anything and fight back. He felt trapped, being sexually assaulted by someone who could ruin his career.

That, coupled with his injuries, and his divorce, really did a number on Brendan mentally.

Apparently it set him in a deep depression, where he blamed himself for everything.

If you noticed Brendan moving out of entertainment, that was why.

Just look at how he physically changed due to everything:

He went from being one of those famous faces of Hollywood, one of those Hollywood hunks, to being a shell of his former self.

Only recently (last few years) has he began getting himself together, and acting again.

He may not be the best actor, but I really did enjoy the movies he was in, they were fun. It was fun watching him.

So knowing what happened to him, and knowing how that impacted him, I can’t help but feel sorry.

Good luck to Brendan.
