Which actor played a villain role too well for comfort?

This girl gave me nightmares:

‘Wait’, you may ask. ‘What is discomforting about her? She looks nice.’

Well, I’ve always been a firm believer that girls generally look better without (too much) makeup.

This girl is a prime example.

Her name is Daveigh Chase.

Doesn’t ring any bells yet?

Well, imagine that you are going on a date with her. But, just before you go, she wants to put on some makeup in the bathroom.

Which takes about two hours.

Then, she emerges:

Not so cute now, eh?

I saw The Ring for the first time when I was about 13 or 14 years old, during a birthday party. The best part was when we secretly called the birthday boy (about halfway through the movie) and said “Seven days…..” in our creepiest voice, scaring the crap out of him. But truth be told, we were all pretty haunted by it.

For years, whenever I was home-alone and the television would cut to that grey static background (along with that horrible noise), I would get instant chills. Once, the phone actually rang at the exact same time. It was my grandma, asking if my TV also wasn’t working anymore. I am sure she must’ve heard my heart beat over the phone.

Daveigh even got a Best Villain of the Year award at the MTV Movie Awards of 2003.

The only thing that finally cured me was the brilliant scene from Scary Movie 3 where Brenda beats up Samara (“Cindy, the TV is leaking!”).

I should add though, I would totally go on a date with Daveigh. I would just make sure that, after the relationship got serious, there would never be any televisions around the house. Or phones. And definitely no well in the backyard.
