What is something that the media gets wrong about the Medieval times?

The Media doesn’t dress the men properly.

This uniform is a cross between modern and fantasy styles. Yes, they are soldiers. But they aren’t dressed properly for Medieval soldiers. Maybe they’d pass for D&D.

Russell Crowe in Medieval Times as Robinhood? Really?

Other than his bow and tunic, he looks like a modern guy hunting in the woods. His hair is too short. His pants look like trousers. Too modern.

Richard Gere as Lancelot. Really? He looks like he’s wearing a tuck in shirt with brown khakis. Is that what Lancelot would have been wearing? And in all three photos, where’s the colors? Have you ever seen anything so drab?

How were men inclined to dress in medieval times? More like this.

They were more likely to have color in their clothes.

They had more designs in their tunics.

Men weren’t ashamed of their legs. They wore tights/leggings/hose. Strong legs were a sign of masculinity. That’s why the tunics got shorter and shorter over the years. The tights also became more colorful.

In medieval films today, all the men look ridiculous.

What the heck is Heath Ledger wearing in A Knights Tale? The women look closer to how they’re supposed to look. The guys look like they belong in another movie.

For some reason, Hollywood was better in the past at getting the costuming right for the male characters.
