IN the year 1977, Deng Xiaoping visited the United States. He wanted to meet his old Friend Nixon - who was disgraced and had resigned. The State Department refused to oblige for which Deng responded by deciding to visit California directly on his own to visit Nixon as a common tourist to the US. This shook up Carter and he invited Nixon to the White House. People believe this incident was the beginning of Nixons reahabilitation as Deng in his speech called Nixon ‘Old Friend’ (Very significant word in China - Old Friend is a special relationship)
Why am i saying this?

2 Flashy Shows - one at a cost of Rs. 2600 Crore to the Indian Taxpayer, A Lot of talk, a Lot of handholding, a Lot of mutual praise
Since this “Friendship” - Trump has bullied India on the Hydroxychloroquinine, called India shady in a presidential debate alongside China and Russia, yanked India off a priveleged trade list, restricted every visa for Indian citizens including the H1B
Since this”Friendship”- Modi has switched sides to Biden in a matter of 15 seconds after Bidens election was called and did not call officially issue a single word of praise for his old friend like Netanyahu did or Bolsanaro did.
As i said- Hype, Hype and Hype - but at the end of the day - Worthless
It is worth mentioning that I made a mistake in one of my early answers when i wrote that Ab Ki Baar Trump Sarkar was coined by Modi during the HOwdy Modi event based on what the media was saying (NDTV, India Today)
This is incorrect. This term as coined in September 2016 during the US elections of 2016 by Trump to attract the Indian Votes. A Comedian Jimmy Kimmel has a video clip of Trump saying AB KI BAAR TRUMP SARKAR (Actually AAB KI BAA TRUMP SAAKAA)
So apologies to Modiji on that front.
