I believe this is an example of hypocrisy at its finest. Actors and actresses are people who are paid to perform in roles, regardless of what that role may be. Looking at this on the other side of the coin,

in Sex and the City, Cynthia Nixon, a renowned lesbian, played the role of a straight woman who married a man and the two had a child together. Because Cynthia is a lesbian, should she have been denied the role? No. Therefore, when two straight actors play the roles of homosexual men

as Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston do on Grace and Frankie, there should be no outcries from the LGBTQ+ community.
