Do you think of Meghan Markle still using the Royal label when she isn’t allowed anymore?

The Palace just issued a statement, which leaves Meghan no option other than open defiance, should she and Harry choose to continue using SussexRoyal in any capacity. Here is the statement:

While the Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new non-profit organization, given the specific UK government rules surrounding use of the word 'Royal,' it has been therefore agreed that their non-profit organization, when it is announced this Spring, will not be named Sussex Royal Foundation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use "SussexRoyal" in any territory post Spring 2020.

Therefore the trademark applications that were filed as protective measures, acting on advice from and following the same model for The Royal Foundation, have been removed.

EDIT: According to Page Six, Meghan and Harry have consented to not using SussexRoyal moving forward. I have read nothing about the use of the word, Royal. Will repost if I read about it happening.

Should Meghan decide to go ahead and use SussexRoyal then I believe Queen Elizabeth will have no option other than to take Duchess of Sussex away from Meghan. It would be a little more difficult to take Harry’s title away, since it involves Parliament, but the Queen would do this to protect the Monarchy.

This is what gets a bee in my bonnet. I have been labeled a hater for stating the obvious. Why issue a statement that Meghan and Harry cannot use SussexRoyal on tees and notebooks and on their Foundation and on Instagram, with that cute little crown (coronet) over their initials, if they weren’t making moves to use this brand?

I was stating the obvious and not hating them or anyone. See? William and Catherine don’t have the cute crown. Why not? Aren’t they royal also? Oh, yeah, they didn’t bail on the family in hopes of making millions on being…royal!

Prince William and Catherine use their picture, as does every other royal. Not Meghan and Harry. No. They have a cute crown over their intertwined initials. Why? Why do that unless it’s an image thing. Even Queen Elizabeth knew what Harry and Meghan were planning. Anyone who’s watched this couple since their engagement, knew they were banking on being royalty.

Meghan and Harry trademarked so many items at an incredible cost to? Prince Harry? Prince Charles? I don’t know whose money it was, but it’s all gone down the drain. The couple is now supposed to remove the trademarks on the hundreds of items they planned to use.

No, they were not protecting their precious royal name lest a random stranger came along to besmirch their values, integrity and devotion to the Crown. It’s laughable. Meghan and Harry wanted to make money off being royal; there is nothing else that makes them special in this world full of celebrities. And celebrities usually have talent.

This is going to hurt their ability to earn money. There’s nothing about Harry selling his royal experience. Can he still dish on his life and on losing Diana, his mum? They could take money for speeches about that without losing anything, I believe. Not a tell-all though. That would never fly.

Since Harry and Meghan have been expressly told not to use SussexRoyal or the word, Royal, in any fashion, they must rebrand themselves. I have no idea what their new Instagram name will be. H&M is already the name of a successful chain of stores, so that isn’t it. But Meghan will have to find another name. Another brand.

I have read that both Harry and Meghan are so upset that they are just going to go ahead and use the SussexRoyal. I have read that Meghan wants to sue the Queen. That’s funny. Who the hell does Meghan Markle think she is? Why is Harry joining in when he knows the Crown has a very long arm. The Queen’s reach can be felt across Canada, all the way to Vancouver Island.

They know better than to angrily push ahead with their plans using the word, Royal. This is what they would lose: HRH status for life, the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and they would lose Prince Charles’ supportive money. They cannot continue. Harry and Meghan have to admit defeat in use of the name. To continue out of spite is folly. There are still important things this couple stand to lose.

I’ve read both Harry and Meghan are incredibly angry. They should have thought about this before they left the royal family and fled to Canada. And no, it wasn’t the newspapers. You may believe that, but I believe it was the pursuit of money in the form of branding their royalty. I wonder if they will simmer down and come back to the UK? Well, Harry likely will, and stop trying to make money because Meghan married a prince.

I wonder just how smart Meghan is. Doesn’t she get it that if she proceeds and uses her royal status, which only comes to her because of her husband, Meghan stands to lose everything she has gained? She is supposedly clever. So use your head to find another way to earn money.

One last bee in my bonnet. Meghan has to figure this out. A new way forward. A new identity. But she plagiarizes others’ speeches. She took the idea for the cover of Vogue from an actual published book that had come out a few months before. Meghan copies the way she is photographed, using other celebs for “inspiration”. Meghan is good at copying, but to gain financial freedom, she is going to have to be innovative, and I’ve not seen that issue forth from her.

One thing is certain. Meghan and Harry have to rebrand. The Queen has spoken. Should they choose to ignore her, they are bigger fools than I thought. I sincerely hope for them, and their dwindling supply of funds, that they rebrand themselves. It’s not an easy task, but their “royal” identity cannot factor in their new brands and name.

And will they keep that pretty crown over their initials on their Instagram account? That’s what interests me the most in all of this. That silly little crown or coronet. It’s an image that conveys royalty. Interesting times are ahead.
