            Healthiest way to eat Rice


I love to have rice I have healthiest Method of cooking the rice makes it more healthier.




1 cup of rice contains 200 calories.

Rice contains mainly starch .

Processing the rice or by samskarana makes it more healthier.

I.e. By altering the cooking method rice can be made more healthy..

In 2009 research was conducted by Sudhair James in Shri Lanka(where 38 types of rice is grown) showes by adding coconut oil to the boing rice reduces nearly 30 to50 percent of calories and makes it healthier.

The cause of obesity or over weight is — during the digestive process extra calories or extra fuel get converted in to fat and causes obesity.

James method of cooking rice ,alters the process and makes rice more healthier.

The method is simple—

Rice is boiled as per usual method ,but simmering it and boiling for 45 minutes

While boiling ,3 percent to the wieght of rice, coconut oil is added.

After rice is prepared it is chilled by refrigeration.

Even if this rice if reheated again also the calori reduction process remains unaltered.

12 hours chilling is most beneficial.But it should not be repeatedly heated again and again after chilling.

After this process rice when consumed its found more healthier than the regular method.

Specially for obese and diabetic persons it is good.

Than fried rice which containes high calories steaming the rice is healthier. Using the mud pot is best.

Add more water to cook the rice and boil it. When rice is ready—the excess water which is starchy that has to be drained off.

This method of preparing rice is more healthier than directly preparing rice in the cooker.

Boiled rice i.e. Brown rice specially (red rice )or unpolished rice is most healthier.

It containes more of fiber and vitamines specially B12.

Boling the Brown rice with excess of water and making it semisolid gruel or what is called as Kanji or Ganji by South Indians is good for health.

It is one of the best method and healthy way of eating rice.

Desi cow's ghee and little salt is added to it. This kanji has a wonderful taste and aroma. This Kanji is light for digesion full of nutrients ,cooling to body.

Specially eating rice at night by preparing boiled rice kanji is best .

For Diabetic persons watery portion should be avoided only rice should be served.

Even for babies and toddlers nicely smashed kanji or preparing rice porridge and using it regularly is beneficial.

It is excellent baby food like Ragi porrige or gruel for 6 to 8 month babies.

To increase the food value along with rice ,ragi ,green gram ,almonds and soya beans are added after roasting it.This should be made in to nice powder.

It is best baby food 8 to 10 months Babies. It is called as Manni or Manna powder.

It can also be fortified with dhal water,boiled and smashed pototo pieces carrot pieces etc.

Boiled rice is better than the white rice. Even white rice can also be used as kanji

For morning breakfast or for noon if white rice is being used ,then best way to consume is Curd rice.

Adding curd wth different raw vegetables and choosen fruits ,seasoning with ghee mustard seeds ,hing ,curry leaves and finally adding salt and cut raw coriander leaves makes the curd rice tasty and full of vital nutrients.

Every time while washing the rice it should be washed nicely 2 to 3 times.

Organic rice is a better choice.


Here are few more healthy ways of cooking rice.

In Karnataka ther is a tradition called preparing Kaayi Haalu Ganji or Coconut milk rice -on the day of fasting like Krishna Janmastami. Even to break the fasting of Ekadashi,the next day morning this kanji is prepared.

It is prepared with adding turmeric leaves( by tieing it) in to the boiling white rice.

After the rice is cooked with the turmeric leaves for that thin coconut milk should be added first .Boil it well .Finally add thick coconut milk.

This is super healthy food has very special aroma and coolant.

It replenishes full nutrients and energy to the body soon after fasting!!!

Even germinating the rice and using it for cooking is in practice in many places of world..like Japan and Korea

This fortifies the nutrients and it is said to have more praana shakthi like sprouted green gram which enhances the vital power.

These are simple and healthy ways of eating rice.
