AHMEDABAD: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has announced that the pier work for the stretch of 118 km — for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project
— has been completed while the girders for the 15.7 km have been completed.

According to officials, the land acquisition was over 98% in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

In Dadar and Nagar Haveli, the land acquisition was completed, and no more land was to be acquired.

The NHSCRL officials said that overall progress was 24.10% in the over-500-km stretch from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
The progress in Gujarat was 29.78% while the same in Maharashtra it was 13.26%.

Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had in 2022 announced in Ahmedabad that the multimodal hub, which is coming up in Sabarmati as a part of the
Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project, will be ready by January or February next year. The NHSRCL has got possession of the Bandra-Kurla station.The project involves the first undersea tunnel which will be between the underground station at Bandra-Kurla Complex and Shilphata in Maharashtra.The seven-km (approx.) stretch of the under-sea tunnel at Thane Creek (Intertidal Zone) will be the first under-sea tunnel to come up in the country.
The tunnel will be a single tube one to accommodate twin tracks for both-up and down track.
