NHSRCL Awards All Civil Contracts For 352 Km Corridor In Gujarat State

Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project is advancing rapidly. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has granted 100% civil contracts for the construction of the MAHSR alignment in Gujarat, which covers 352 KM out of the total MAHSR corridor of 508 KM.

Mumbai – Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project is a 508 Km long and India's first High-Speed Rail (HSR) corridor. Out of 508 Km, 352 Km lies in Gujarat (348 Km), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (four Km) and balance 156 Km lies in Maharashtra. NHSRCL has also received civil contracts for eight high-speed rail stations in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, and Vapi and two rolling stock depots in Sabarmati and Surat.

While the construction work of piles, pile caps, open foundations, well foundations, piers, pier caps is in progress in 110 Km length, piling has been completed in 81 Km length, foundations have been completed in 30 Km length and piers have been completed in 20 Km length.

The ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) is progressing at a rapid pace. National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has awarded 100 per cent civil contracts for the construction of MAHSR alignment in Gujarat which constitutes 352 km out of 508 km of total MAHSR corridor.

NHSRCL has also awarded civil contracts for eight HSR stations at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora and Vapi, and two Rolling stock depots at Sabarmati and Surat.

Recently, NHSRCL has signed an agreement with M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) for design and construction of about 8 Km of viaduct including an HSR station in Vadodara in the state of Gujarat for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR C-5 Package).

To ensure seamless integration with the railways, the Vadodara HSR station is planned above the existing platform No-7 of Vadodara station of Indian Railways. With this integration, the passengers will get the comfort of easy transfer between HSR and Indian Railways.

Mumbai – Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project is a 508 Km long first High-Speed Rail (HSR) network under execution in India. Out of 508 Km, 352 Km lies in Gujarat (348 Km), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (four Km) and balance 156 Km lies in Maharashtra.

The construction work is in progress in Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, where 98.6 per cent and 100 per cent land has been acquired, respectively. In Maharashtra, land acquisition done so far is 62 per cent.

Out of 352 Km, Geotechnical Investigation work has been completed in 325 Km length. For doing the Geotechnical Investigation, Asia’s largest Geotechnical Lab has been developed at Surat.

The works on piles, foundations, piers, pier caps, casting & erection of girders for viaduct and stations have started all along the alignment passing through eight districts of Gujarat.
