How, at 80 years old, does Ringo Starr of the Beatles look so young and healthy?

To each his own but you can eat all of the grass and berries you want and live like a monk, but longevity and health usually come down to luck and good genes.

I know a 92 year old man who smoked for 40 years, drinks half a bottle of wine per day with at least one or two cognacs, has eaten in restaurants 24/7 since 1985 and is basically the macho gay (think Clint Eastwood)) still very active version of Hugh Hefner.

He’s as healthy as an ox, still drives his Mercedes-AMG S63 like a maniac (he got a speeding ticket yesterday). He’s never been sick in his life (not even a cold) in his life and his blood tests results are better than mine and I’m 40 years younger and very healthy. He tripped on his dog last year and went flying down 6–8 stone steps, broke one arm and cracked his jaw (at 91), 2 days later he was fighting the nurses to leave the hospital and he was back in the saddle 6 weeks later.

His soon to be 100 year old brother also still drives around and recently helped his son, grand-sons, great-grand sons and daughters put up a new roof on the family barn.

In comparison, my natural product vegetarian transcendental meditating exercise nut of an uncle died several years ago at the age of 47 from liver cancer.

    • Digestive issues have led to his eating healthy food for most of his life.
    • He gave up smoking, drugs, and drinking alcohol decades ago.
    • His positive attitude has never allowed stress to dominate his life.
    • He married a drop-dead gorgeous movie star who makes him happy.
    • He keeps busy.
    • He uses hair dye. He lives in Beverly hills, amigos. You can't be gray there.
