Taking immense pride to answer this lovely question. We have a massive history of food.
Indian cuisine dates back over 5000 years. Each region has its own traditions, religions and culture that influence its food. Hindus tend to be vegetarian and Muslims tend to have meat dishes, although pork is forbidden. Indian food has been influenced by Mongolian, Persian and Chinese cuisine, among others.
Now talking about today’s scenario, we have lost the history and also we are moving more towards junk food which is not at all good for health. Often via Quora, I try to lay emphasis on the fact that eat home made food as much as possible, where at the same time I can totally understand the challenges faced by today’s youngsters who are living in metros have 9–5 jobs as I am one of them. We have no time to cook , at the same time have so many options to try out ( outside)
But, We are Indians! C’mon!!!! we use every nutritious ingredient at our homes and I totally want to give a salute and credit to all Indian housewives :) Mothers, fathers, Daadi, Naani, Chaachi, Brothers who cook for us, feed us :0)
Why Indian food is so healthy? because the basics are still not lost. From cumin seeds to turmeric we use them in all three meals. We try and make the tastiest dishes at home, we try cooking at home and give credit to Indian culture for this that, Family is the most important part of our lives, Eating three times is an important part of our lives. If you are at home skipping meal is not an option. Why? because family members are around and they make sure that you have your food in time.
I think you all might have already felt the importance of family and food , during CORONA times.
On this note I am attaching some food pictures that I tried in 2020, some of them might not be Indian Cuisine, but all are made in a typical INDIAN KITCHEN :)
