I assume the sort of map you’re talking about is one like this, which shows which way each county voted.

That’s an awful lot of red, and the people claiming the election was rigged like to pull maps like this out as evidence.

The problem of course is that the population in each county is not equal. This map tells you absolutely nothing about how many people voted for each candidate.

If four counties with ten people in each go to Trump, and one county with fifty people in goes to Biden, then Biden still wins. Even though Trump won four counties to Biden’s one, he still got forty votes to Biden’s fifty.

And that’s what matters. Remember, land doesn’t get a vote. People get a vote.

Maps like this do a better job of showing numbers of votes for each candidate.

That puts a bit of a different spin on things, doesn’t it?
