Johnny Depp’s career has already been damaged incredibly much by the unfounded allegations of Amber Heard against his person. He’s damaged. Badly. Here’s a man who had his finger cut off, who was beaten, filmed when passed out and covered in food, who had her take a dump in his bed and after all this… he loses his case? Most fans of Depp that I know, are quite pissed off and feel hurt by what she has done to him. They’re shocked at the ruling. But no one’s support has wavered — the court has ruled unfairly before, and will continue to do so.
I can write a lot of words about the ruling. About why it is unfair, but a judge ultimately has the power to decide. There will be an appeal from Depp, of that I’m sure. And the appeal will likely go nowhere. It’s just sad. Let me just post once more the picture of Depp’s severed finger. A finger cut off by Amber Heard, a woman who has physically abused partners in the past. Can we please refer to her as ‘manipulative abuser Heard’ from now on, or would that be libel?
The case’s outcome proves, beyond any doubt, that a woman can now cut off a man’s finger and still have him labeled a wifebeater for defending himself.
It’s a sad day in society, a sad day for the state of the world and the relationship between men and women in the 21th century that you can all but abuse a spouse with impunity and all you need to do to get away for it?
Be a beautiful blonde woman and an actress trained in the ancient art of crocodile tears…
Whether his career is dead or not, Johnny Depp is still a wealthy man. Those who follow his work, admire his personality and are fans of his movies, will continue to see the good in him. His movies, the ones he starred in before, continue to be great. His skills remain undiminished. And regardless of the trial’s outcome, people know him. People love him. More then anyone ever loved, or ever will love, Amber Heard.
He will continue to visit sick children in hospitals. He will continue to don his Jack Sparrow outfit and uplift the terminally ill, the sick, the dying. Make them laugh. Cheer them up in their hardest moments. He’s good people. He drinks a bit too much sometimes. He’s had his moments, not-so-proud moments he looks back on with shame. But his former wives and girlfriends love him. He’s got a life to live, and he will live it, regardless of what some judge in London ruled and regardless of what some tabloid cooked up out of malice and spineless sensationalism. Any journalist worth his salt and any reader with half a brain cell knows it’s rubbish anyway.
His children love him. His fans love him. He’s more than just a figurehead for a warped movement, he’s more than just a professional victim… I cannot say the same for Amber Heard, who is a leech in human form, latching on to more successful people and accusing them of abuse when she’s done far worse, all to get her fifteen minutes of fame. Most people following the case and its unfortunate and unfair outcome are smart enough to look at the facts at hand and make up their own minds. Few have ‘cancelled’ Johnny Depp over what has come out, as most of what has come out has made his ex-wife look a lot worse than him.
Amber Heard, meanwhile, may have won her case. But she did not come out of all this looking even remotely good. Her lies have been exposed to the world. Her hypocrisy. Her violence, and her cruelty. Not to mention the damage she has done to the #MeToo movement and the genuine victims of abuse, who because of her lies now face even more of an uphill battle than before. At the same time, other high profile and wealthy male celebrities face even more public scrutinity and false accusers looking for a quick buck and some attention are more encouraged then ever before in an era where even the law seems on their side…
Johnny Depp lost his case against The Sun. But at the end of the day, the people know Depp is a good fellow. He’s beloved. He’s respected. Sometimes, pitied. Always entertaining. The Sun is just another pathetic tabloid, and Amber Heard is unworthy of anyone’s attention the moment the media circus dies down and people go on with their lives.
