some over the top practises followed by some celebs for enhancing their beauties

The world of glamour demands beauty and to stay above others you have to do something different. My word, these ladies just prove that being unique and different has a new meaning in glamour. Here are some of the few weird and over the top practices followed by these beauties, which I am sure, are going to surprise you.

Selena Gomez’s sweat bed

Selena loves getting wrapped up like a burrito and laying in a sweat bed for 45 minutes to rid her body of toxins. FAR infrared energy warms the core body temperature to encourage perspiration, which improves the tone, texture and overall appearance of the skin. These sweat lodges also claim to help firm and slim the body and promote sleep.

Victoria Beckham’s bird poo facials

So, poo isn’t the first thing you think to apply on your face for glowing skin. Well, there are plenty of stars out there, who believe bird droppings are the anti-aging agents. Nightingale facials use sanitized, dehydrated nightingale bird poop, that is ground into a fine powder and mixed with water to form a paste that is then applied on the skin. Bird poop is said to have a high urea content, which locks in moisture and guanine, which can apparently have a brightening effect on skin. I would rather stick to our conventional masks and creams, thank you very much!

Hailey Baldwin’s blood moisturizer

Hailey Baldwin uses a facial lotion that is concocted by Dr. Barbara Sturm, a leader in molecular cosmetics. Hailey’s blood is extracted from her arm and then put in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and white blood cells, which are then added to a cream that is called MC1 Blood Moisturizer. Dr. Sturm suggests that our own platelets can fight off signs of aging by reprogramming our skin. As if the blood part wasn’t enough, at over $1,000 a pop, your bank account will be drained pretty quickly too.

Jennifer Lopez’s placenta facials

J.Lo is desperate to slow the process of aging and what better way than with human placenta facials!? She swears by the expensive placenta collagen masks reporting that they rejuvenate her skin and keep her looking fresh and youthful. Maybe that's why she doesn't look her age.

Kate Middleton’s natural Botox

The Duchess is not only known for her incredible style, but also for her buzzworthy facials. This Royal lady willingly subjects herself to bee venom. As soon as the skin comes into contact with the venom, it automatically reacts as though it’s been stung, which causes it to firm up and plump up. It’s claims to fame include helping scars heal faster, as well as helping reduce acne and improve overall texture. Of course, there is a caveat. If you are allergic to bee stings, this one is not for you.

Gwenyth Paltrow’s vagina steaming

We really shouldn’t be shocked by anything Gwenyth does for health and beauty. Gwen raves about this vagina steaming treatment, claiming it’s more than just a “steam douche” for your lady bits. Clients sit over mugwort steam (on a glorified toilet), which is said to balance hormones, maintain internal health and keep skin looking young and healthy. Who said steam cleaning was just for carpets!

Kim Kardashian’s vampire face lift

It's not easy being Kim Kardashian; she has to spend so much time and money on maintaining her highly glamourous and photographed face. A few years ago, she shocked her fans by posting pictures of herself during a vampire facelift. Blood is drawn from the victim's arm, platelets are extracted and then injected into the face to prevent wrinkles. What can we say, beauty hurts.

Angelina Jolie’s caviar body treatment

Ange has expensive taste; she's been known to indulge in caviar-based body treatments. Yep, fish egg extract is smeared over her skin to firm and moisturize it. Apparently, she relied on this regimen during her pregnancies to prevent stretch marks. I think better to stick with coconut oil.

Irina Shayk’s 24k gold face mask

Celebrity skincare expert Mimi Luzon created the 24k Pure Gold Leaf Face Mask which is said to renew cells, improve skin’s elasticity and reduce wrinkle depth. Irina is not the only top model to pay $300 for this indulgent face mask — Victoria’s Secret Angles Elsa Hosk, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Sara Sampaio also swear by these blingy beauty treatments.

Cindy Crawford’s milk spray

Cindy mixes milk with water for a hydrating facial spritz. Not sure this would smell very nice, but she’s obviously doing something right, because she’s just as hot now as she was in her heyday.

Teri Hatcher’s red wine soak

Teri Hatcher takes her love with red wine to a new level by adding a few cups to her bath. She insists the fiery fluid is moisturizing and increases skin cell renewal. We'd rather drink wine than bathe in it!

Cate Blanchett’s penis facial

Controversy arose when Cate raved to Australian Vogue about her favourite facial — it’s called a ‘penis facial’ by those in the know and it’s all the rage in Hollywood. This high-end facial, performed by celebrity facialist Georgia Louise, involves micro-needling the skin and applying a serum that contains epidermal growth factor (EGF) or to be more specific, stem cells harvested from the foreskin of Korean newborn baby boys. Yep, that’s right! After a newborn circumcision, stem cells are harvested from the foreskin and made into a collagen generating serum. The price tag of $650 is practically a steal when you consider what’s being slapped on your face.

Halle Berry’s coffee grind body scrub

Halle Berry has a killer bod and maybe that’s because she does something the rest of us don’t (other than exercise and eat well of course!). Halle adds coffee grounds to her body wash to exfoliate her skin. The caffeine in the grounds apparently helps to tighten the skin and increase circulation. At least the coffee grounds are natural and won’t cause harm to our environment the way plastic microbeads in bottled exfoliants do.

Katie Holmes’s snail slime skin care

The French eat snails, Hollywood actors smear them on their skin. Katie discovered that snail slime skin care products smooth and regenerate damaged tissue leaving her with soft, glowing skin. Because snail slime has a mix of elastin, glycolic acid and protein, these strange products are slithering their way to celeb popularity.

Demi Moore’s blood-sucking leech therapy

Demi really goes to the extreme when it comes to her looks. She once went to Europe specifically to experience the detoxifying benefits of leech therapy (yes, as in those slimy blood-sucking things that most of us hope never to see!). The leeches suck blood from your skin while releasing enzymes that (apparently) remove toxins from your blood.
