True indeed I Started with an interim campus in Dehradun in August 2008 with 6 courses, 224 students and 15 faculty members, UPES has grown with a vision. UPES expanded its offerings from hydrocarbons and allied areas to multidisciplinary areas of Energy/IT/Transportation to provide industry-aligned education. Today UPES is proud to have two sprawling campuses one at Bidholi and the other at Kandoli offering more than 80 industry-aligned courses (graduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs) to approximately 12,000+ students in the high growth sectors like Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation, Information Technology, Electronics, Design, Business, Public Policy, Legal Studies, etc. through its constituent schools. The vision of the university is to be an institution of global standing for developing professionally competent talent, contributing to nation-building.

1. Co-Design - Content development by faculty of UPES and subject matter experts from Industry partner.

3. Co-Deliver - Module to be delivered jointly by faculty and subject matter experts.
4. Co-Certify- Co-branded certificate to be awarded after successful completion.

Recognising UPES’ commitment towards delivering domain focused programs, several organisations of national and international repute have pledged to invest knowledge resources in the university. Not only that, but many have also established labs and knowledge centres within the campus towards the common goal of industry strengthening through superior manpower.
The university has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for Automotive Design Engineering and Chemical Engineering (Specialisation: Refining and Petrochemicals) program. Moreover, UPES Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (UCIE) has been recognised as an incubator by the Government of Uttarakhand. The University has recently been awarded 5 Stars for Employability, Academic Development, Facilities, and Program Strength by the globally acclaimed QS Stars™ rating system.
Today, UPES graduates have been the preferred choice for employers, reflected in its superior track record of over 94% placements year after year. The highest pay package for the year 2020 stands at ₹ 45 lakhs p.a. This year, the placement figures for B.Tech. at UPES were at a record 93%. For Engineering and Computer Science programs, the university maintained a 100% Placement Record for the fourth year in a row. During campus recruitments, 117 companies made over 2500 job offers to the students. The recruiters included big names from the corporate world such as Adani Airports, Aditya Birla, Bechtel India, Escorts Limited, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited, Hyundai Motor India, IFOS Aviation, Indigo Airlines, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited, Newspace Research, Philips Carbon Black Limited, Schlumberger, Shell India and Spicejet, to name a few. The highest package offered was 45.25 LPA for School of Computer Science and 17 LPA for School of Engineering.
Beyond academic excellence, students are encouraged to participate in our 50 plus Student Clubs & Chapters. They provide unique opportunities for networking, mentoring and bonding over common interests. They provide support both within the student community and to local communities outside the institution. Student Clubs & Chapters are intended to provide a platform through which students may share their special concerns and run programs for students and other members of the community with an interest in information science. Our Clubs & Chapters have won many international & national accolades for their exemplary performance and deep insights.
