Would a building like Hitler’s Volkshalle be able to be built today?

Oh, quite likely. If you can find someone to pay for it. It would be twice as high as this:

This is the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. It holds many of the same issues, like condensation - so it has dehumidification systems. It’s tall … but far from record breaking. Neither is the Volkshalle; 300m tall? Many buildings surpass that today.

The construction isn’t complicated either - it’s just a dome. It would take some work to do it, of course … but it could absolutely be done.

It’s just that … what on Earth should be the purpose of it?
