President Biden doesn’t have to hang it at all. That tradition has been expunged by none other than (drumroll please)….Donald Trump!
Donald, forward thinking chap that he is, has already hung his portrait in the White House. Called “The Republican Club” it shows 9 former Republican Presidents enjoying time with Donald, President Lincoln appears to be having a Diet coke. Just like Donald.
This print of Trump currently resides in the White house. It reminds me of ‘Dogs playing poker’ and is as classy as Trump himself.
By tradition portraits of recent presidents are hung in the entrance of the executive mansion, visible to guests during official events. Earlier this year the portraits of George W Bush and Bill Clinton were removed and ‘displayed’ in the old family dining room, which is normally used for storing furniture and spare tablecloths.
Nice… Not.
Other presidential portraits are donated from the collection of the National Portrait gallery at the request of incoming presidents, they can request portraits of those they admire, or would like to emulate. That kind of thing.
I don’t see many US presidents requesting Trump’s portrait any time soon.
Unless it’s President Ivanka.
President Obama’s portrait.
President Obama’s portrait is still languishing at the National Portrait Gallery, Trump having not bothered to have the traditional unveiling ceremony at the White House, and reportedly, Obama not wanting to step foot in the place for said ceremony even if Trump had bothered to ask.
But the portrait itself is the thing…
Normally Presidents fund their own portrait. Trump may have some difficulty funding his own portrait after he leaves the White House, what with all the lawyers, impending jail time etc. So I would suggest that Biden find something ‘off the shelf’ for Trump.
This could then be hung in pride of place in the old family dining room with the tablecloths.
My picks.
This would be appropriate, the art is a tribute to that of Andy Warhol.

Or this?
We should really have a competition in the comments section for this.
