Terrible idea. I am sure there are some women’s groups that would lobby for this just for the sake of breaking down another barrier, but it would be the end of the franchise as we know it.
-James Bond has always been a male…you cannot continue the image, persona and franchise if the sex changes. Ian Flemming would be rolling in his grave at the idea.
-There are now plenty of sexy female assassins and spies on TV and the media: consider Atomic Blonde, Hanna, Killing Eve, etc. No need to change Bond to a woman to make that statement.
-If you want to create a female super agent, why make it Jane Bond?, why not a entirely NEW super-agent from MI6 and start a spin-off . And for God’s sake NOT Emma Watson, she is a waif: too petite, too thin, too cutesie to be a super agent. If you want a British lady super agent that is beautiful, intelligent, sexy, strong and the female James Bond, My vote is for Hayley Atwell.
