Sounds promising, but in scientific pharm testing, blind studies will have to be conducted, and every age group and those with underlying conditions to be included in trials. Representative samples of all groups will have to be included. January launch would be a miracle.

I'm no Doctor or a Scientist but isn't the point of a Vaccine to provide immunity to the disease not to boost your immune system?
 I get that a strong, healthy immune system gives you the best chance of fighting it off but you can strengthen your immune system w/o this "Vaccine".
A good vaccine “teaches” your immune system how to beat a certain disease. A healthy immune system is always nice, but a vaccinated immune system has a huge upper hand over the disease.
Level of science and health literacy in US is pitiful. Vaccines immunize you against specific pathogens. A health immune system doesn’t prevent you from getting sick or dying from all pathogens. E.g polio vaccine
When they say they got the immune boost, for this vaccine, read “produced anti-coronavirus neutralizing antibodies”
they call it immune boosting as they got the response they were after....but you can’t call it protective immunity until you have done the study.
That's not how vaccines work. In order to actually shed virus it would need to take hold and start reproducing in the host. The few vaccines that use live virus use an attenuated virus: it's been severely weakened, so your cells can form a memory without succumbing to infection.
This is only Phase 1 people! & It is NOT the final study starting this month -as the utterly misguided AP byline suggests! This is just the beginning! Please don’t be mislead that NEJM has lowered it standards this yr & is now publishing sponsored phase 1 safety studies. Wake up!
This is only the first stage of testing, of one potential antiviral. Science supports all global efforts to secure a virus, but trump would keep it all for the US, to make him look good, although he has done nothing to support control of the virus. He has encouraged the opposite.
They are now saying anyone who has had Covid loses most of the the antibodies in 3 months, what good will a vaccine do if we lose the immunity in 3 months? Isn't that what these vaccines do is give a low dose of the virus so your body learns to defend it?
My understanding is THAT is the reason animal studies were bypassed with Covid-19 vaccine testing. So yeah, great that volunteers developed antibodies. Tell me how they do when exposed to the wild virus before claiming success. Also, since the virus mutates, how will a vaccine
The question is, do we believe anything, anyone or any business currently coming out of the USA?  The vaccine is likely to provide immunity to COVID-19 but leave recipients with a list of other ailments in the name of making a buck and the lack of government oversight.
